Cerebellar stellate cell — fast-spiking interneuron in the molecular layer.

Biophysics: Wang-Buzsáki Na+/K+ core extended with Kv3.1 for narrow action potentials and high-frequency firing. Provides feedforward inhibition onto Purkinje cell dendrites. Receives excitatory input from parallel fibres (granule cell axons).

Stellate cells are smaller than basket cells and innervate more distal Purkinje cell dendrites. They show minimal spike frequency adaptation and can sustain high firing rates.
